SpaceNet presents new cloud solution
With the "SpaceNet Cloud", the company is specifically addressing the needs of business customers who place the highest demands on availability, reliability and personal support. The new platform is based on the modern open source technology KVM and not only enables customers to flexibly self-provision their server resources, but also goes far beyond this. It offers a complete infrastructure as a service with integrated SaaS solutions such as Kubernetes. The SpaceNet Cloud takes on the big international players, with customer requirements being directly implemented in the development of the solution.
"Our customers benefit from the great flexibility of the SpaceNet Cloud. We remain true to our values and offer customers both a modern solution and personal and competent contacts. We know our customers," explains Sebastian von Bomhard, founder and CEO of SpaceNet.
One of the biggest differentiators between SpaceNet and hyperscalers is its strong service mentality. After all, the integration of a cloud offering harbours the potential for errors, which is why organisations need quick advice and solutions to problems. According to a study only 31 per cent of the companies surveyed were satisfied with their provider during the first twelve months of migrating to the public cloud. A good half complained about problems with the implementation of compliance and security requirements. Solving problems is difficult in many cases, as support for hyperscalers is often outsourced. Advice is only provided indirectly in problem cases.
"Security plays a major role in our solution. On the one hand, the in-house SOC (Security Operations Centre) is available, monitors cloud operations and can also be activated by the customer for their operations if required, and on the other hand, our data centres are also physically protected against attackers," von Bomhard continues.
The highlights of the new infrastructure include
Data protection and GDPR compliance: the SpaceNet Cloud is operated in the company's own EN50600-certified high-security data centres in Munich. The servers are therefore all located in Germany and are subject to strict German and European data protection laws.
Highest security standards, also physically: Multiple redundant protection against power failures, break-ins etc. Certified in accordance with ISO 27001 and the comprehensive European EN 50600 standard.
Can be optimally combined with IT security: protection against DDoS attacks, bookable SOC, SIEM solutions, ransomware protection and much more.
Maximum flexibility: Elastic Cloud Server, Elastic Load Balance, Elastic Volume Service
Certified resilience: EN50600 certification stands for availability even under extreme conditions, during maintenance and especially when operating fail-safe environments
AI-ready: the solution offers companies the ideal basis for operating their own AI without having to worry about hosting. The integration of GPUs makes the infrastructure ideal for AI development and AI applications.
Intelligent resource management: efficient, automated utilisation control with extensive monitoring and reporting functionalities
The hardware infrastructure is made up of components from leading manufacturers, all of which are owned by the company itself, which guarantees additional security and independence.
"With this platform, we are catching up technologically with the major cloud providers, but offer the decisive advantage of local data storage in Germany with a location guarantee and customised customer support," adds von Bomhard.
