SpaceNet relies on Nextcloud:

SpaceNet AG, the established IT service provider specialising in managed security services, is using the cloud storage and file sharing platform Nextcloud Hub for its internal and external communication. With the introduction of the solution, which offers real-time collaborative document editing, chat and email functions as well as project management, SpaceNet is strengthening its position as a data protection-orientated IT service provider. All 130 of the company's employees are now using the new platform.

The Nextcloud GmbH product has established itself in all departments at SpaceNet and has become an indispensable tool in daily business operations. The platform proves its versatility particularly in the areas of marketing and press, but also in board communication and data exchange with customers and service providers. Employees are introduced to the use of Nextcloud during onboarding to ensure a smooth start. The platform is particularly intuitive and easy to use, meaning that training is only used for individual modules in order to utilise the full power of the solution. Specific training courses are also offered for particularly data-sensitive departments and for the Management Board.

The decision in favour of Nextcloud was made not least due to the high data protection standards and the option to customise the platform to the company's individual needs through app extensions. "With the Nextcloud Hub, which is a modern, on-premise collaboration platform, all data is stored at our data centre in Munich and not in a cloud abroad. The fact that we have complete control over all the data we store and share without third parties having access to our IT infrastructure is in line with our understanding of true data sovereignty," explains Sebastian von Bomhard, CEO and founder of SpaceNet. SpaceNet rates the solution as particularly secure compared to other common solutions, for example from US providers. Its success proves the platform right: the user base increased tenfold between 2020 and 2021. In absolute figures, this means that the solution supports millions of users worldwide.

SpaceNet AG plans to further intensify the joint collaboration. There is already a manufacturer support agreement for the enterprise version of Nextcloud, which offers SpaceNet customers significant advantages over the open source version. Further developments are planned in the field of artificial intelligence, which the IT service provider will report on in the near future.

Long-standing SpaceNet customers, including the Evangelical Church in Bavaria and the Tölz Boys' Choir, particularly appreciate the ease of use, reliability and high security standards of the solutions. Some customers have been using Nextcloud services since Nextcloud was founded in 2016, and the company has been an official Nextcloud Gold Partner since December 2022.

On 6 November, SpaceNet is a sponsoring partner of the Nextcloud Enterprise Day in Frankfurt. Interested visitors can meet representatives from SpaceNet and Nextcloud on site.
